Stoner wins Catalunya GP

Stoner wins Catalunya GP

Stoner wins Catalunya GP

To Marco Simoncelli, who started for the first time in MotoGP from pole, only a sixth place behind Valentino Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso.
The excessive power of the Honda Australian has blurred the race for six laps, where Lorenzo has tried in every way to stay attached to Stoner, but when the Australian decided to leave there was nothing more to do and Casey came the third win of the season, second straight. Only a sprinkling of rain around mid-race as a bit ‘of adrenaline, but overall the situation on the track has not changed. Supremacy so obvious as to fear a continuation of the league along the lines of the Grand Prix of Catalunya, with no uncertainty for the award of first place.

BRAVO LORENZO
In the second place, Lorenzo keeps the lead in the championship with 7 points ahead of Stoner world champion drove a good race, making the most of the material at his disposal. But right now the Honda is much higher and Jorge’s good to get every time the maximum possible. This time he succeeded well Ben Spies, who after a really bad start to the season, he returned finally to his level.

ITALIAN pursuit
There was great anticipation for the Italians, especially Simoncelli, but a problem in starting – Marco fire right at the traffic lights, but turned the first corner in seventh place – he immediately dispelled the dreams of the glory of the Gresini team rider . Sic then put back up to sixth place coming up to half a second from Rossi, but when it seemed ready to attack rival friend, succumbed suddenly, dramatically slowing the pace. For more than half of the race, Dovizioso and Rossi, who in the early rounds have passed a couple of times, were very close, trailing by three, four tenths, but in the final Dovi has lengthened and there was no challenge for fourth place , however, unable to settle with Andrea Spies for the last step of the podium.

FIRST COMMENTS
Casey Stoner: “It ‘s been a really positive weekend, the bike went right away. For the race we changed some ‘attitude and we were competitive. I started well, the first lap was good and I just tried to keep abreast of qualifications. Then it started to rain and the conditions got tough: Look carefully at the white flags to see where the track was more slippery, but then the concern is fading fast. ”
Jorge Lorenzo: “For the second and third place team Yamaha is a great team result, but we work so hard because now we can not fight with the Honda Stoner. Then it started to rain and some parts of the track, particularly in the last sector, the conditions were really difficult and did not take much to make a mistake. ”
Ben Spies: “We had many difficulties in this season, but we continued to work today and everything went well: I’m confident for the rest of the season.”

MOTO2
Triumph in solitary Stefan Bradl, the clear success in five races. Second place, in comeback, Marc Marquez, Aleix Espargaro third, fourth with Simone Corsi, who with 13 points, moved up to second place overall. Horrible accident al15esimo Sofoglu tour of Kenan and Julian Simon, with the turkish who completely wrong assessment and hit the innocent Spanish, then swept off the bike too: the poor Simon broke his tibia and fibula of his right leg and in the coming days will be work in Madrid.

125
Race beautiful and spectacular, with Johann Zarco who manages to keep up with Nico Terol, with Maverick Vinales little detached. Zarco Terol last corner supports and pushes him off the track straight wins but is rightly penalized 20 seconds and then demoted to sixth place with first Terol, Vinales Folger second and third.
“Just because I’m French and Spanish he” thundered Zarco, but his movement was clearly incorrect.
