It may just remind you of a sweet ride from back in the day, but the new Jake Edition Corvette set to be revealed at this year’s SEMA Show is brand-spanking new, and incredibly wicked. Using Jake, Corvette Racing’s skull mascot, as inspiration, Chevrolet took a standard Grand Sport Coupe and put in many hours of work and modifications to turn it into the special convertible concept vehicle you see in the pictures before you.
The Jake Edition Corvette is distinguished by Z06 wheels featuring the Competition Gray finish, matte Jake hood graphic from the GT1 commemorative models, and lots of other accessories that are already available in any Chevrolet dealer. In the future, Chevrolet will also be adding Jake-logo floor mats, console lid, wheel center caps, and other accessories to this special edition.
"The Corvette has long inspired car enthusiasts to personalize it. The Jake concept shows one very unique way to do it," said Dave Ross, design manager. "With the great variety of accessories and other parts available, there?s virtually no limit to how you can make your Corvette stand apart from all others."
Press release after the jump.
