The Champion and the Apprentice

The Fiat Yamaha team have been surrounded by hype this past few weeks. Not, as an outsider might expect, caused by a battle to re-sign the reigning champion: Rossi’s contract ends at the end of the 2010 championship, and he looks settled, happy, and at one with the bike he helped shape and tune into [...]

World Superbike Looking for 2013-2015 Tire Supplier

There’s a growing rumor (if not fact) that Pirelli won’t be supplying the World Superbike Championship with tires after the 2012 season, and a piece of that puzzle has come forth today as Infront Motor Sports (IMS) has announced that it will be accepting bids from tire manufacturers to exclusively supply the World Superbike & World Supersport Championships, the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup, and the Superstock 600 European Championship for the 2013-2015 racing seasons. While ...

Date:03/04/2011
Circuit Time : 02:15 Pm ET ( local Time)

The fabulous Spain Jerez International Circuit lies on the outskirts of Jerez, the capital city of Spain. Built in little over a year, the track cost $58 million USD and  required round-the-clock dedication from almost 1,000 workers in order to get it ready for the inaugural event - The GRAN PREMIO bwin DE ESPAÑA Grand Prix of Spain on the 2nd April   2011 !!

The track itself is a flowing layout of 2,748 miles, surrounded by artificial grass designed to prevent sand from the neighbouring desert from blowing onto the circuit. The main straight is over a kilometre in length and there is a good mix of medium and high-speed corners, including a couple of quick left-handers which has proved particularly popular with the riders.

Circuit info ::
 Length: 4.423 m. / 2,748 miles
 Width: 11m
Left corners: 5
Right corners: 8
Longest straight: 607 m. / 0,377 miles
Constructed: 1986

In 2001 Spain celebrated the first night time Grand Prix in history, following the construction of permanent outdoor lighting. The switch to night time racing was a success and has continued to be so,with the Spain Jerez event now established as one of the most spectacular on the MotoGP calendar.

We’ve gotten confirmation from several Bothan spies sources that Zero Motorcycle CEO Gene Banman will no longer hold a position at Zero Motorcycles. MotoGP Predictions In The Circuit Spain

Myth in MotoGP, Between Right and coincidence
It turned out that the myth was wandering the world of MotoGP. When in fact it was so true myth this could be due to chance alone, you may believe or not believe. I am simply here to share our thoughts can break for a moment after posting about Kompasiana beleaguered police chief, sex and Indomie. And this news lightly, so make the supporters of the drivers who do not take heart in the mean yes. Consider this wrote warming before watching the race at Phillip Island, Australia this week.

1. Jorge Lorenzo, do not enter the podium because of helmet

Tribute to Omizawa - Aragon (dok.motoGP-mania)
Lorenzo was a racer who rarely changing helmet motif. Just a simple helmet with a black color and X-fuera logo on it and the number 99 in the left and right side. Although simple helmet had accompanied him to reach the podium as much as 7 times in the race series this year. But in the 3 series race he changed helmet motif. And what was the result?
                             Visit Spain - Motegi (dok.motoGP-Mania)

In Indianapolis Lorenzo Iron Man-themed helmet wearing. Helm took him reach the podium to 3. Not bad but not as good as hell at least reach the podium achievements 2. In Lorenzo Aragon Tribute to wear a helmet themed Tomizawa, as a sense of sympathy to commemorate the departure of Shoya Tomizawa who died in an accident in the previous series. The result is the only rider won the 4th position. The first time Lorenzo was standing at the podium. And the last one when appearing in Motegi, Lorenzo was wearing a helmet with a typical Japanese ornaments and promotion "Visit Spain", which also became a sponsor Visit Spain MotoGP Motegi implementation. And the result is the same as in Aragon. Lorenzo did not reach the podium after losing a wheel to wheel with Rossi.

2. Pedrosa anti umberella girl

A scene that awaited before the race begins, in addition to seeing the preparation of the drivers on the track, is also the charm of the Umbrella Girl next to the drivers. Surely you agree that all Umbrella girl was pretty and sexy. Almost all racers shaded umbrella is carried by the Umbrella Girl is in contract to race in the series except for 2 people. The first is an umbrella Casey Stoner by his own wife (who is also beautiful and sexy). And another is the umbrella by Dani Pedrosa, his team of men (who certainly was not pretty and not sexy hihihi).

He said this is the way Dani to stay focused on the race and did not want to be disturbed by anything. Beautiful and sexy lady is very disturbing yes Dani? This indeed raises questions that ultimately arise nosy. Dani is not it normal? Well, the attitude Dani quiet, cool, and never did celebrate the weird like Rossi or Lorenzo, Dani is not a reflection of abnormalities. Dani I think instead of "not normal", he's just too sweet.

Pedrosa and the umbrella man (dok.motoGP-update)

3.Valentino Rossi is not going to be World Champion this year
Beyond that Lorenzo was dominating in the series this year, apparently there is a myth that has not been broken until today. There is a tendency that happened that based on data since 2000 (he said last year too), only the rider who won the series at the time make sure he won the world title in just the next year will be world champion again (do not get it?).V
To clarify my sentence let us look at these data, the sequence is the year of racing season, world champion in the season, the circuit where the World Champion title winner and finish position when the World Champion won his title.
In 2000, Kenny Roberts, Jr., Nelson Piquet, Brazil, finished 6thIn 2001, Valentino Rossi, Phillip Island, Australia, champion seriesIn 2002, Valentino Rossi, Nelson Piquet, Brazil, champion seriesIn 2003, Valentino Rossi, Sepang, Malaysia, champion seriesIn 2004, Valentino Rossi, Phillip Island, Australia, champion seriesIn 2005, Valentino Rossi, Sepang, Malaysia, the finish of the 2ndIn 2006, Nicky Hayden, Valencia, Spain, finished 3rdIn 2007, Casey Stoner, Motegi, Japan, finished 6thIn 2008, Valentino Rossi, Motegi, Japan, winner of the seriesIn 2009, Valentino Rossi, Sepang, Malaysia, finish 3rdIn 2010, Jorge Lorenzo, Sepang, Malaysia, finish 3rd2011,?

This year's Jorge Lorenzo won the world title by finishing 3rd at Sepang, so what next year this myth will be a justification with Jorge Lorenzo who are no longer won the world championship?

Jerez demands analysed by Bridgestone

MotoGP?s official tyre supplier previews the second round of the 2011 World Championship this weekend, to which it will bring medium and hard front tyres and soft and medium rear options.

Jerez demands analysed by Bridgestone
Bridgestone are preparing for the first European round of the 2011 World Championship this weekend, as MotoGP arrives at Jerez.
Track temperatures often reach over 40C at the southern Spanish circuit although this year?s race is being run a month earlier than last year?s event, and Bridgestone are therefore expecting cooler conditions.
Tyre performance at the track last year was good, with Dani Pedrosa setting a new lap record, and the compound selection (medium and hard front, soft and medium rear) remains the same as in 2010. In fact the medium compound front and rear slicks were actually used in Qatar two weeks ago as well, where the track temperature was around 22C ? a clear demonstration of the wide operating temperature range of Bridgestone?s slicks.
?Jerez is a technical circuit with a mix of fast and slow corners,? said Hirohide Hamashima, Director of Motorsport Tyre Development at Bridgestone. ?It is a good test circuit because of the diversity of the corner layout and this means that we require a tyre with a very balanced character to provide good handling from low speed to high and from flat corners to changes in elevation.?
?The layout doesn?t generate particularly high loads for the front tyre?s centre section, and the left and right shoulders are used equally so asymmetric rear slicks are not required here. The surface is smooth, meaning not bumpy, which is easier for the tyre?s centre section but the grain of the tarmac is abrasive.?
Hamashima continued: ?The track temperature during the race weekend is historically high, although the race this year is run one month earlier than in 2010, but coupled with the abrasive surface it adds to the challenge of durability and wear although Jerez is not the most severe from a tyre point of view. Last year tyre performance was good and Dani set the first of eight new lap records achieved last year, so we have selected the same tyres this time around.?

BMW M5

As you probably already know by now, BMW is preparing the next M5 sports sedan and they promised it would be "a brilliant car." The first concept version will be unveiled at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show, with a production version to follow at the Frankfurt Motor Show a few months later.

With the new M5, BMW will focus on improving all the aspects of the car. First, the car will be built on an all-new aluminum chassis and will feature the intense use of carbon fiber. This will help reduce the car’s weight considerably. It will also produce 25% less CO2 and the new V8 engine will require less fuel.

Under the hood is where it may get a bit tricky. Originally, the new M5 was to carry the same twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 engine that can be found in the BMW X6 M. This is still the case, but instead of the 555 hp found in the X6 M, the engine is said to deliver an impressive 578 HP in the M5.

UPDATE 03/25/2011: Good news for all of you who were waiting for the new BMW M5. According to BimmerToday, the M5 will finally have its top speed limiter removed so that it will be able to hit a top speed of 189mph. However, this will only happen for the German market. The US market will only get a manual gearbox.

UPDATE 03/30/2011: BMW has unveiled a 30 minute video of the M5 sports car and has also confirmed that we will have the first details for the sports car on April 1st. No , this isn’t an April Fool’s joke - at least as far as we know. The official release of details will be followed by its public debut at the Shanghai Motor Show a few weeks later. Video after the jump.

Hit the jump to find out more on the future BMW M5.

State Government Backs Jerez de la Frontera Circuit ? Ensures MotoGP Racing Through 2016

The 2011 MotoGP Championship heads to Jerez, Spain this week, as the premier class gets ready for its second race of the season. 2011 so far has been a tough year for motorcycle tracks. First there was concern over whether Donington Park would get FIM homologation in time for World Superbike’s visit (spoiler alert: they did). Then there was concern over New Jersey Motorsports Park, which filed for Chapter 11 protection, as the east coast ...

Porsche Panamera Turbo S

Porsche has unveiled the official details on the seventh model in the Panamera line-up. The new Turbo S is the most powerful version and, of course, the most expensive one as well. On the US market sales will begin later this spring with an MSRP of $173,200. The car will make its first appearance at the New York Auto Show on April 20th, 2011.

With the new Panamera Turbo S, Porsche has combined ultra high performance and efficiency, sports-car-like driving dynamics, and first-class comfort in just one car. Under the hood Porsche has placed a 4.8 liter, V8 biturbo engine that delivers an impressive 550 HP, a 50 HP improvement over the previous Turbo version. This is more than enough power to sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 190 mph. We get all of this while receiving a fuel economy of 23 mph (highway).

Throughout multiple Porsche lines, the Turbo S model has made an appearance and remains today as the range topping model. Some models are more inclined to find a buyer for an ultra-performance version, but other manufacturers have found success with the same formula. The Mercedes S-class has even more model variations than the Panamera, but even the ridiculously powerful S65 with a bi-turbo V12 has found plenty of takers. One of the biggest hurdles Porsche may face is the fact that the basic Panamera is less than beautiful and the Turbo S model is hard to distinguish.

Hit the jump to read more about the new Porsche Panamera Turbo S.
